A 2.8 hour flight from Sao Luis to Rochambeau, French Guyana.
Pouring rain. Across the equator. We planned to stop and eat lunch, but they wanted us to clear customs/immigration, and we didn't want to. Thierry instead found baguettes with ham, cheese, or both. |

| Satelite coverage...and lat/long coordinates (01 04.36S, 048 40.96W) well before we cross the equator. Attempting to find the equator on the GPS. |

| ...and we completely miss the big huge crossing the equator event. Coords are 0 00.14N...and something I can't read W. Three problems here: 1) a fast plane; 2) we didn't plan at all for where the equator was; and 3) Bri never practiced how to do a shot like this. |
