A big story here; the bus (from Puerto Natales to the Grey Lodge) dropped us
off to see a HUGE waterfall, Satto Grande. It was a twenty minute walk, along a road/trail that
was under construction and filled with mud and puddles of water. Oh, and there was about
a 50 mile-per-hour wind coming straight at us...and it was somewhat rainy.
After all that...we got a not-so-pretty violent torrent of water falling over a ledge. |
| An attempt at a panoramic (three photos) of a violent waterfall, Satto Grande. Massive winds and rain made this difficult. Somehow, it nearly worked. |

| After the torture of a windy/rainy hike to Satto Grande, the wind AND rain both die off. Moss with tilt-shift. |

| Nice. Tilt-shift moss near Satto Grande. The blue blur in the upper third is either Mama or Papa. |

Finally arrived at the Lake Grey hotel. Just after sunset. There was a 'trail'
from the front of my cabin to the lake, which I exploited, and suffered through
MORE winds to get the first look at Glacier Grey. Little did I know that there is
an official boardwalk from the common room to here. Oh well.
Interpretation: The blue stuff near the middle of the picture is the Grey Glacier. The mountain to the right is Paine Grande. |
