...where we explored Golfito, Costa Rica. I went for a hike to a waterfall, found a bunch of ants, and an angry animal growling, but no waterfall Golfito is an old banana plantation town, devistated by the loss of the banana companies. There are lots of old industrial infrastructure and buildings falling apart. It's also got one of the nicest natural harbors.

There was a bit of a sidewalk along the beach, and this bridge took us across a lagoon.

The story here is that the Captain of this boat fell madly in love with a local, but couldn't be with her, or buy land, or something like that because he wasn't a citizen. So, he beached his boat. Instant house.
