Washington DC, and the Cherry Blossoms

A nice spring day, a good time to cash in some of that flextime at work and wander around DC with a friend. Be sure to also see what happened at Gravelly Point "on the way home" (pay no attention to the fact that I live the other way from there).

Reflecting pool, World War II "monument", Washington Monument. Just playing with a new lens.

Same lens, still playing.

Same lens, still playing. It's a Sigma 50-500mm.

Water! You just can't screw up water. Still the 50-500mm.

Self portrait, at the World War II "monument". Sigma 10-20mm.

My dear friend Liliana insisted that I get a real picture of me, and here it is.

Water! Still more water! I took a bunch of these, none of them got the top of the fountain. Bummer.

DC wildlife?

As much as I dislike the World War II "monument", they got one thing right. It's centered.

Hooray! It's SPRING! Cherry are blooming all over the place!

Foreshadowing!

Looking up.

Waterfal at FDR's memorial.

Water falling, closeup.

We caught the end of a DC based Flamenco dance company.

This was the last performance for the day.
